Roma Shah brings glory to Surat in powerlifting 

Surat, Gujarat: Powerlifting sportsperson from Surat Roma Shah has again made the city proud as she bagged gold medal in Delhi State Powerlifting Competition under the aegis of W.P.C India. Roma won the gold medal by lifting a weight of 145 kgs at BW of 69.500 kgs in the deadlift event having 30 participants. She dedicated her win to coach Yazad Bhesania with whom she has been training for more than 5 years and to her parents Deepa and Biren Shah, whom she considers her inspiration.

Roma has been training under the guidance of her coach Yazad Bhesania at Athletica Fitness which has played an important role in her success. Roma has expressed determination to improve her performance and preparations for her upcoming endeavors at national and international competitions.  

At the international level in pre covid times, Roma brought two gold and two silver medals for the country at World Raw Powerlifting Champions 2019 held at Moscow, Russia. Roma has total of 8 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals in the past 5 years at the International level.
